WORKSHOP LIVE DISCUSSION: Journal of the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry: Pearls and Pitfalls in Submitting to the Official Journal of the ACLP [INVITED SESSION]

As of January 1st, 2021, Psychosomatics has changed its name to the Journal of the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (JACLP) and welcomed a new editorial team led by Dr. Ben Lee, the Editor-in-Chief of JACLP. Moderated by Dr. Lee, this workshop will feature the members of the JACLP editorial team and demystify the submission and review process for prospective authors and interested readers of the journal. Through this workshop, each participant would attain a better understanding of the pitfalls and pearls about preparing their manuscript while maximizing the publishabilty of their work for JACLP. Specific examples of common mistakes in preparing manuscripts for JACLP will be provided to the audience throughout the workshop.
First, Dr. Lee will outline the new direction and opportunities for JACLP and describe how the broader scope of the journal that reflects the rapidly evolving field of C-L psychiatry. Next, Dr. Joseph Cerimele, the Deputy Editor, will explain the changes in content along with the manuscript types and their respective requirements (the “Guide to Authors”) for JACLP. Then, Dr. Mark Oldham, the other Deputy Editor of JACLP, will explain step by step from submission to triaging to peer-review and editorial decision for each submitted manuscript. Finally, Dr. Scott Beach, the Section Editor for Education, will describe the new ACLP Case Conference Section and the overall education mission of the journal. At the end of the workshop, we will have a Q&A session with the audience to further clarify the editorial process and assist the prospective authors in their preparation of their potential manuscripts for JACLP.
