AIM to Learn: Actioning on Implicit (Biases) and Microaggressions in the Learning Environment
In this skills course, participants will learn basic principles related to diversity, equity and inclusion. Participants will understand ways that implicit bias and microaggressions manifest in everyday interactions in patient care, health care teams and the clinical learning environment. Participants will reflect on ways that hierarchy and identity impact health care teams, applying concepts through identification during vignettes. Participants will practice communication skills to respond in the moment to unexpected bias and promote inclusion.
